I hadn’t considered the situation quite this dire. But then again, I hadn’t considered the full calculus.
It’s worth a read and reflect. We had discussed this topic several times in the past and, according to das Kraut, the showdown is but a year away. We may learn whether “preemptive war” is a good idea or not.
We burned a lot of cycles on this story, and while nearly everything asserted by liberal media, including a Rove conspiracy and all sorts of nefariousness on the part of the White House, turned out to be false.
I think this is a small, but significant, lesson on conspiracy theories. Since it is usually the out-of-power party that engages in them, it is the Democrats’ turn to take a lashing in punishment. I admit that I was attracted by the notion of Bill Clinton orchestrating Vince Foster’s death. I apologize. As David Broder says, “Let’s stick to the facts.” (more…)
