BILL GATES ‘CHARITY’ FOUNDATION FINANCES NEWSPAPER PURCHASES

The BILL & MELINDA GATES FOUNDATION declares its noble mission is to bring “innovations in health and learning to the global community.”

But the world’s largest philanthropic organization also is among the organizations that collectively loaned nearly $400 million to MEDIANEWS GROUP INC. — for the acquisition of newspapers in California and Minnesota!

“I thought this foundation was all about starving kids, not starving newspapers,” mocked one Seattle insider.

The GATES FOUNDATION loaned an unspecified amount to MEDIANEWS, along with GENERAL ELECTRIC.

In April, MEDIANEWS agreed to buy four newspapers, including the SAN JOSE MERCURY NEWS and CONTRA COSTA TIMES, from MCCLATCHY CO. for $1 billion. MEDIANEWS also bought California’s MONTEREY COUNTY HERALD and the ST. PAUL PIONEER PRESS in Minnesota. It also own the DENVER POST.

The move into funding media acquisitions was unusual for the BILL & MELINDA GATES FOUNDATION, whose donations usually go to health and anti-poverty purposes.

In June, financier Warren Buffett announced he would donate an estimated $31 billion to the GATES FOUNDATION, bringing its total endowment to more than $60 billion — which could easily save every newspaper in America!

I beleive we had a discussion on the wealthy and their philanthropic habits but I don’t think this was even included. What do you make of the move?

A federal judge has ruled the NSA’s wiretappings to be illegal and issued a cease and desist to the Justice department.  I believe we discussed this before but I was curious to see how this ruling affects our convictions of the case. 

 Does anyone think this will get upheld in the higher courts?  Do you think this is a strong message sent to the Executive branch about the rampant abuse of power?  Do you feel that they can do what they want to ensure our safety?

Does he/she deserve to be champ?  Does being a man/woman mean more than having the appropriate appendage? 

When becoming a woman, from a man do you lose the inherent bone structure, body fat indexes and muscle striata that make men different from women?  Or is the definition of a man’s sport v woman’s sport based on the perceptions of either gender’s skill. 

 Its an interesting (and uncommion case here)  and I thought I’d post it to see who is listening.

I want to first preface this discussion with a word on the First Amendment.  I am staunchly pro-free speech.  If you want to put videos of your smutscapades on the internet, or you want to spit gangsta shit over some homemade beats (like Puff Daddy), then be my guest.

I care not to tell others what they shall and shall not say, nor do I care to make a law about it, regardless of the abyssmal tripe being slung.

However, the fact that something is legally permitted in NO WAY makes it OK.  Contrary to the frequent assertions of Dr. X, there is definitely a “right” and a “wrong”, at least as far as the effects on society are concerned.  Showing black women on all fours, tied to a leash, and defecating on the floor is humorous to some, but should be categorically rejected by society from appearing on the airwaves.

Black America should take serious heart.  , which appears more willing to believe that the president’s “racism” orchestrated a biblical flood in an act of genocide than the fact that they are the ones more responsible for demeaning themselves on a daily basis, even publicly as described above, than any other ethnicity.

Personally, I’m appalled by the skit.  I can’t see any white person getting that skit on the air without death threats and widespread condemnation.  But since black people were involved in its production, and judging from the fact that it has not reached the same degree of public scrutiny as Mel Gibson’s drunken, anti-Jew tirade, it’s apparently neither racist, sexist, offensive, or insulting.  Perhaps it’s even art.

I’ve heard that institutional racism is holding back black America.  I’m beginning to believe that black America is holding back black America.  Only in 2006 America is this a race card, but this art for the masses.
