‘In the absence of true leadership, people will follow anyone…’
Which certainly explains why Louis Farrakhan still has people who follow him.
This hatemonger opened his mouth and decided it was a good idea to suggest that part of the levee in New Orleans was blown up to keep the ‘white’ part of town dry and the ‘black’ part of town flooded.
You wonder why black people still don’t get respect? Because you don’t stand up as a community and condemn idoits like this guy. Yet fools, white and black, get pissed when someone like Bill Cosby stands up and points out the obvious, that black communities and families bare the weight of responsibility when it comes to striving for equality and respect.
Do I think blacks have suffered here in this country. Undoubtedly. Do I believe that there are still elements of racism in our world today. Certainly.
Yet that doesn’t absolve anyone from their resposibilities as an adult in this country. You have to take care of yourself (so long as you physically and mental able to) and your family. You have to stand up and say “He’s an fool and doesn’t speak for me,” or “I agree with him.”
If your black (or any other minority), its your job to make sure you can stand up and be counted.
You get a seat at the table. But no one is going to carry you and sit you down into it.
